«The armored Chevrolet of Pavel Kapysh, chairman of the council of directors of Joint Stock Venture “Baltic Financial-Industrial Group”(BFIG), was audaciously shot at from a grenade thrower and Kalashnikov machine guns at 9:15 in the morning on July 26, 1999. This occurred in the center of the city at the ramp way of the Lt. Schmidt Bridge. After One and a half hours, he died at Pokrovsky Hospital. His Chevrolet had a standard level of protection, which did not allow for the penetration of bullets from automatic weapons, but no more than that.
